Rohonc Images and Scriptural References

This a list of apparent scriptural references and the accompanying pictures. This is not a complete list. There are a few scriptural references that are not accompanied by images, and a few that contain number symbols to which I have not given transcriptions yet.

The entry into Jerusalem is described in Matthew 21:1, Mark 11:1, Luke 19:28 and John 12:12.
Should I T I T QX I be read "twentieth chapter and one"? See below page 199 L1.

The number here is unusual. If we can read it as chapter and verse (2:15) then we have a good match with Mark 2:15, "And as he sat at table in his house, many tax collectors and sinners were sitting with Jesus and his disciples; for there were many who followed him."

However, the current system of verses was not introduced until 1551, when Robert Estienne published the first edition of the Vulgate containing verse divisions.

Other readings might be "35" (treating the dot as immaterial) or "2 and 15".

Triple scriptural reference. Matthew 5:15 and Luke 8:16, concerning light. What is CO I XCAB?

Matthew 5:15-16: "Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a bushel, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."

Luke 8:16: "No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a vessel, or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a stand, that those who enter may see the light."

Matthew 11:19: "the Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Behold, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!' Yet wisdom is justified by her deeds." (Matthew, identified as the companion of Jesus in the image, was a tax collector.)
